Question:“I’m a systems administrator, my company has implemented Hyperion Planning and they want me to manage it. What do I need to know to manage this application?”
Cris: "As a system admin, you will be responsible for ensuring the application is available and recoverable. Additionally, you may be required to manage changes to the Planning system. I suggest starting with the Oracle Hyperion Planning 11.1.1 Installation Configuration. This 3-day class walks through the process of installing Planning as well as supporting products in a multi-server environment. This first step will familiarize you with the infrastructure and introduce you to the application logs and configuration files. Additionally, the installation class introduces you to the Hyperion Lifecycle Manager which is a tool you would use to “promote” objects from one environment to another. This is knowledge that you can take back to your installation and apply immediately for troubleshooting and managing your environment. Shortly after the install class, attend the Oracle Essbase 11.1.1 for System Administrators. Hyperion Planning uses Essbase for data storage. This three-day class teaches the fundamental building blocks of an Essbase as well as techniques for managing data, optimizing performance, and managing the backup and restore process."

Oracle Hyperion Financial Management 11.1.1: Create Manage Applications - Feb 8th
You’ll create an application, enter data, and adjust and view data using data grids and data forms. Also during the class, you’ll enter and process journals and inter-company data, deploy rules, calculate and consolidate data, manage the review and approval process of financial data, and apply system security to Financial Management data.
Oracle Hyperion Financial Reporting 11.1.1 for Financial Management - Feb 11th
This course is designed to teach you how to create and manage reports with Financial Reporting, and use Financial Management as the data source. You create reports, report objects, books, and batches; format reports; and add auto calculations and functions. You also learn to manage items in the repository and define permissions for report items. Exercises help you practice the skills taught.
Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management 11.1.1 Administration - Feb 17th
In this course, you learn to implement Financial Data Quality Management (FDM), an advanced data transformation management solution. You learn a single, systematic process for loading source data from disparate systems into target analytical applications. Exercises provide hands-on practice.
